To order custom shorts for a gym, academy or team, agree one design and decoration method, collect an accurate size breakdown, decide what is personalised per member, and work back from the date you need the kit. A single, complete brief lets the manufacturer quote and proof the whole order once, instead of fixing details piece by piece.
This guide is for coaches, gym owners and team managers planning a group order of boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing or MMA shorts. It covers the decisions that most often delay team orders and gives a checklist you can copy into your enquiry.

1. Decide what every member gets
Start with one shared design. Choose the style (boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing or MMA), the main colours, the gym or team logo and its position. Keeping the base design the same for everyone keeps the order simple and the look consistent.
Then decide whether you need more than one variant, for example a competition pair and a training pair, or separate colourways for coaches and members. Each variant usually needs its own proof.
2. Choose a decoration method that suits the design
- Full-colour or all-over designs: dye sublimation, which needs a light polyester base.
- Classic satin shorts with a raised gym logo: embroidery or embroidered appliqué.
- A simple one- or two-colour logo: screen printing can work well on larger quantities.
Our sublimation vs embroidery guide explains the trade-offs in detail.
3. Collect the size breakdown properly
Ask every member to measure, not guess. Share the manufacturer’s size chart and ask each person to measure their waist as described in it. Record the result in one list with columns for name, size, and any personalised text. Order a few spare pieces in the most common sizes if new members are likely to join.
For mixed teams, check whether women’s or kids’ sizes need a different cut and add them as separate lines. See our fit guide for how to measure.
4. Plan personalisation per member
Names, nicknames, flags or numbers make each pair individual, but every personalised item has to be typed, checked and proofed. To avoid errors:
- Collect names in a spreadsheet, not in chat messages.
- Check spelling, capital letters and special characters with each member.
- Keep the font, size and position the same for everyone.
- Decide whether personalisation goes on the waistband, the leg or the back.
5. Work back from your date
Give the manufacturer the date you need the kit in hand, not the date of the event. PAILK’s custom boxing shorts guide says design and manufacturing usually take two to three weeks depending on design complexity. Shipping time is separate and depends on destination and method. Add time for design rounds, your team’s approvals and customs clearance. Order changes are accepted within 24 hours of ordering, so finalise names and sizes before you confirm.
6. Ask about pricing for your quantity
PAILK offers special pricing for bulk orders. The price depends on the style, fabric, decoration method, number of colours or logos, personalisation, quantity and delivery destination, so ask for a quote based on your complete brief.
